Zug Film, headquartered in Istanbul, is a creator and producer of a diverse range of cinematic works, including arthouse feature films, documentaries, and shorts. We believe in the power of stories, and for that reason we also provide line production, videography and sound services for fiction and documentary.

The company is on the lookout for unique and bold directorial styles, welcoming both emerging and seasoned directors. Zug Film is dedicated to paving the path for fresh storytelling voices in the film industry.

Etna Özbek graduated from SVA in NYC on 2017 with a BFA in film/video. Her thesis documentary “Water, water everywhere” screened at various film festivals around India and the US. Her documentary “Nosema” won the Special Jury Mention at 40th Istanbul Film Festival, and made its international premiere at the prestigious IDFA. Currently she is working on her first feature length documentary “A Simple Place”, which was awarded two prizes at Antalya Film Forum, the WIP award and Baska Sinema Distribution Award. It was also selected for Dokfest München Marketplace, and recently received funding from the Republic of Turkey Ministry of Culture and Tourism. Currently, she is doing her MFA in Kadir Has University in Film and Drama Department, while searching for intersections between documentary and performance.

Born in Turkey, studied law and earned MBA from Johns Hopkins University. As a business analyst and financial lawyer, he has worked in various sectors including film industry. Recently, Burak started a career as a producer with 'Nosema' in and co-founded Zug Film with Etna Ozbek in 2020 and jointly producing documentaries.

Born in 1994 in İstanbul, Canberk Emre İpek is an accomplished film director and producer. After graduating from Robert College in 2013, he pursued law at Koc University. Post-graduation, İpek honed his filmmaking skills under the mentorship of director Onur Unlu and through various film ateliers. He produced the short film 'Stop Look Listen Pass' in 2020 and is currently enrolled in a postgraduate program at Kadir Has University's Cinema-TV Faculty on a full scholarship. In 2022, his feature documentary '61 Minutes in Trapped Zone' was highlighted at the Antalya Film Forum. İpek is also co-producing ‘Principe’ and has a keen interest in archive-based filmmaking, as showcased in his works. He’s presently focused on his thesis about self-reflexivity in contemporary Turkish cinema.

Koray Arıgümüş, finished his BFA in Film at the prestigious Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University. His thesis film, "Against a Changing World" (2019), which was a finalist at the 8th Bastau Film Festival in Kazakhstan. Since then, Koray produced notable short films, such as "Hell is Empty, All Devils are Here" (2022), which won the Jury Special Award at the 59th Antalya Golden Orange Film Festival, then in 2023, he produced another notable short film, "I Don’t Need Another Defeat," which received the Special Mention Award at the 23rd Tirana International Film Festival. He also worked as a line producer in projects such as the upcoming feature film “A Few Days Before Sunset”, and several commercials . His new undertaking as a director is the upcoming short film "Everything In Its Right Place," has secured financing from many prominent public and private funds within Turkey, such as TRT 12 Punto, Akbank Short Film Festival and the Ministry of Culture of The Republic of Turkey.

Born in Istanbul, Alican Acar graduated from Boğaziçi University with a degree in Mechanical Engineering and later pursued a master's in artificial intelligence at the same university. In 2020, he served as a production assistant on the film "Dur Bak Dinle Geç," which competed at Akbank Short Film Festival and Uşak Short Film Festival. He completed the "Classical YAPIMLAB Training" at YAPIMLAB, founded by Zeynep Atakan. In 2022, his project "Trapped Zone," selected for Antalya FF Documentary WIP section, received the "DAE Encouragement Award." In 2023, he produced "A Moment Frozen" where he has first time realized the combination of AI and filmmaking, which has premiered at Tirana International Film Festival and also got selected to PÖFF Shorts.
